What is CHAS Advanced?
Premier storage is proud to announce we are CHAS advanced & PAS 91 compliant – for the second year running – but what is CHAS Advanced?
Knowing what CHAS Advanced is helps customers understand how contractors manage health, safety, and risk. As a business working across regulated environments, we are proud to confirm that we have achieved CHAS Advanced accreditation for the second year running, alongside full PAS 91 compliance.
Together, these accreditations demonstrate that our health and safety systems meet recognised UK standards. More importantly, they give our customers confidence that they are working with a CHAS compliant contractor that takes safety seriously.
What does CHAS Advanced accreditation mean?
CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is a widely recognised health and safety accreditation used across both the public and private sectors.
CHAS Advanced is the highest level of CHAS accreditation. It confirms that a contractor has robust policies, procedures, and evidence in place to manage health and safety effectively. As a result, organisations awarding work can quickly verify compliance without repeating the same assessments.
For customers, this means reduced risk, clearer assurance, and confidence that safety management meets established standards.
Who needs this accreditation?
CHAS accreditation is particularly important for consultants and contractors who apply for work with:
- Local authorities
- Public sector organisations
- Large private sector clients
- Facilities, construction, and infrastructure projects
The CHAS Advanced certificate is valid for 12 months from the date of assessment. Therefore, contractors must demonstrate ongoing compliance through regular review and renewal.
What is PAS 91 compliance?
PAS 91 is a standardised prequalification questionnaire (PQQ) system used within construction and related industries.
Developed by the British Standards Institution (BSI), PAS 91 provides a consistent way to assess supplier capability across key risk areas. These include health and safety, financial stability, and operational competence.
As a result, clients can assess suitability more efficiently, while contractors avoid completing multiple PQQs for different projects.
