Push Back Racking
What Is
Push Back Racking?
Push back racking is a high-density pallet storage solution that operates on a Last-In, First-Out (LIFO) basis. Unlike traditional systems, this racking system uses inclined rollers or trolleys within each lane, allowing pallets to slide forward automatically when the front one is removed. This setup enables loading and retrieval from a single aisle, reducing space requirements and increasing operational speed.
Ideal for storing medium-turnover or non-perishable goods, push back pallet rack systems are commonly used in distribution centres, manufacturing plants, and general warehousing environments where space and selectivity are equally important.
To ensure warehouse safety and compliance, we follow HSE racking guidelines.

Key Benefits of Push Back Racking?
Optimised Space from Floor to Ceiling
Store up to 9 pallets deep in each lane with a push back racking system, allowing you to make the most of your available warehouse volume. By reducing the number of access aisles, you free up valuable floor space and maximise vertical storage — especially useful in facilities with height restrictions or limited square footage.

Efficient Flow and Organised Storage
The single-aisle configuration improves flow in busy warehouse environments. Each lane can hold a dedicated SKU, helping streamline inventory management and reduce picking errors. The system provides an efficient layout that is ideal for operations with multiple product lines or batch-based stock control.

Safer, Streamlined Operations
With forklifts no longer needing to enter the racking lanes, the risk of accidental damage to equipment, racking structures, or stock is significantly reduced. This design supports faster handling, fewer incidents, and improved overall warehouse safety.

Seamless Stock Movement
Pallets are placed on inclined rollers or carts that automatically move forward as the front pallet is removed. This gravity-fed system ensures consistent rotation and rapid access. Whether you’re dealing with medium-turnover goods or time-sensitive deliveries, push back pallet rack systems help keep operations moving without interruption.
